Employment and wages - a disconnect

 
 
Employment growth was disappointing last month, still up a solid 2.6% y/y.
 
What is disappointing is the growth in "hourly earnings all employees in private industries" was up a meager 0.5% y/y. (See chart, click on the chart to enlarge it).
