Federal government receipts continue to soar, reaching 19.2% of GDP. Why should we care? Because we cannot pay more than 19% of GDP in taxes. Just look at the above graphs. The issue is not increasing taxes (we will never pay more than 20% of our gross income). The issue is to re-distribute federal receipts more wisely without giving excessively to special interest groups. Look again at the above graph. The real issue is not taxes.
